Transport specialist CM Downton provided local support when it delivered a new shed to a house in Gloucestershire that was being transformed for the popular BBC TV show, DIY-SOS: The Big Build in June. The latest project for this long-running show, hosted by Nick Knowles, included a new shed for the garden to provide the household with some much-needed additional space. Downton collected the shed from manufacturer Forest Garden in Hartlebury, Worcestershire and delivered it down the M5 to the house in a village near Tetbury, on the first day of recording in June.
The team from DIY-SOS, including Nick Knowles, designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and many other well-known faces from the show, were brought in to complete the work over a four-day period. The team completed the transformation in time for the big reveal at the end of June. The resulting programme is predicted to be broadcast later this year.
Andy Downton, managing director at CM Downton, said: “DIY-SOS has a history of transforming homes and we were very pleased to help out with this local project. In transport terms it was a very simple job, but we needed to co-ordinate with the producers of the show and other parties to make sure the shed was delivered at the right time to fit in with the tight filming schedule.”
