One of the leading compressor and vacuum pump manufacturers, Gardner Denver, came together with its channel partners, suppliers and sales network at the beginning of June for a day of golf, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

A total of 60 players took to the greens and fairways at the picturesque Ardencote Golf Club in Warwick for the company’s annual charity golf day.

Competition was not confined to the links, with a charity auction also taking place afterwards to raise additional funds.

Taking home golfing gold was the team of Colin Mander, Richard Brown, Robert Morrison and John McGarry (pictured). The main winner, however, was Cancer Research UK, as £4,115 was raised in total over the course of the day.

Colin Mander, who is regional director for Gardner Denver, said: “I would like to thank everyone who turned out and helped us raise money for such a worthy cause.

“We organised today’s event to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and we are delighted to have raised over £4,000. It was also great to meet up with our key distributor and supplier base and discuss the latest issues and challenges facing the compressed air industry.

“We hold this event every year because we are glad to give our whole-hearted support to this cause. Every year, over 350,000 people are diagnosed with cancer, so any money we can raise to help fund research and support this important charity is worthwhile.”
