2,000 square metre expansion due to high level of demand for exhibition space

With IMHX 2016 still ten months away, organisers Informa Exhibitions have announced that an extra 2,000 square metres expansion has now been secured to meet the high level of demand for exhibition space.

The expansion also presents the opportunity to create a Skills and Apprenticeship Zone. This interactive zone will showcase the logistics and intralogistics sectors and will see participation from trade bodies such as BITA and the FLTA, exhibitors who wish to showcase their apprenticeship schemes, and several well-known high-profile employers. IMHX 2016, the essential intralogistics event for supply chain professionals, takes place from 13-16 September 2016 at the NEC Birmingham.

Rob Fisher, Director of Informa Exhibitions’ Materials Handling Group and IMHX organiser explains: “We are now well on track to host approaching 450 exhibitors at the NEC next year – making IMHX 2016 potentially the biggest ever.”

The announcement of the expansion and the Skills and Apprenticeship Zone follows the recent Dynamic Exhibitors’ Day for potential exhibitors and those already booked. This featured guest speaker Dr Gorkan Ahmetoglu, occupational psychologist and researcher in entrepreneurship, who provided a fascinating insight into influencing the emotional and subconscious brain of the consumer to obtain maximum results in an exhibition environment.

Sponsored by leading financial services provider Investec, IMHX 2016 will reflect every aspect of 21st century intralogistics from a dedicated Supply Chain IT Village showcasing the latest logistics and supply chain technology, right through to racking and the latest forklift trucks and materials handling solutions. And as one of the key events of its kind in Europe, it will also be used by many major exhibitors to launch their new product ranges and innovations.

IMHX 2013 was attended by over 19,500 visitors, with 77% of attendees stating that visiting IMHX would influence their buying decisions – and £94 million worth of orders were attributed to buyers visiting the show. Visitor registration for the free-to-attend IMHX 2016 is now open.
