Businesses in the processing and packaging machinery industry are encouraged to get their entries in for the PPMA Group Industry Awards 2017 before the official submission deadline, 30 June. The awards are still free to enter and this year the submissions process has been streamlined with entries made via the website: http://bit.ly/2qSElfr

The ceremony, which recognises the finest examples of innovation, smart manufacturing, entrepreneurship and collaboration, will return to Birmingham’s National Motorcycle Museum on 26 September – the first day of the PPMA Group’s industry event.

Now in its sixth year, the awards bring together industry professionals and influencers from the world of processing and packaging machinery. More than 400 guests are expected to attend the highly anticipated ceremony and three-course gala dinner hosted by Canadian stand-up comedian, Stewart Francis and Sky Sport presenter, Hayley McQueen.

Following a shake-up of this year’s categories, there are now 11 awards open for submissions, including ‘Innovative Robotic Machinery’, ‘Partnership of the Year ‘and the ‘Lifetime Achievement award’.

The 2017 event also features a brand-new category ‘Environmental Initiative of The Year’. This category recognises the innovative and varied steps manufacturers or end users have taken to adopt green measures in their businesses – the move to paperless entries reflecting this focus on environmental issues. A judging panel, made up of 10 independent industry experts, ranging from academia, end-users, editors and engineers, will appraise each entry.

Andrew Mint, CEO of PPMA Group said: “The PPMA Group Industry Awards has grown to be one of the most prestigious events on the industry calendar that brings together the very best in their field. The mission is, and always has been, to celebrate the fantastic achievements of the people and businesses in our industry and it wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our sponsors.”

The PPMA Group Industry Awards is sponsored by many of the major businesses operating in the processing and packing machinery industry. Sponsors confirmed so far this year include TNA and FESTO.

Both non-members and members of the PPMA are welcome to enter and submission is free of charge. For a full list of categories, information on how to enter or sponsor the awards, and to buy tickets for the ceremony and gala dinner head to: http://bit.ly/2qE5CSU
