Liverpool logistics firm expands its sales team

Knowsley-based logistics provider Sovereign Transport, which is a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has expanded its sales team with the appointment of a new business sales executive.

Paul Hanson, born and bred in Liverpool, joins from Hermes, where he spent three years as a field manager. During this time, he was responsible for more than 100 self-employed couriers across various depots in and around Liverpool. As part of his new role at Sovereign, he’ll be in charge of driving new business and will report to commercial director, Rachael Forshaw.

Commenting on his appointment, Hanson said: “It was easy to see the appeal of joining Sovereign Transport; from the vision of the managerial team to the company being a member of Palletways, which is renowned across the logistics sector for its industry-leading, game-changing technology.

“Liverpool is a thriving city with an abundance of growing businesses. This means there’s plenty of opportunities for us to showcase our services and demonstrate the commercial benefits we can bring to these businesses.”

Forhsaw added: “We’re proud of our comprehensive service offering and want as many businesses as possible to know about our capabilities. Bringing Paul into our sales team, with his broad industry experience and endless enthusiasm, will help us to grow our order book and we couldn’t be more pleased to have someone of his calibre in the business.”

Sovereign Transport is one of over 114 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before. The Palletways Group comprises 450+ depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 20 European countries, including the UK.
