Maintec, the UK’s only exhibition dedicated to the maintenance, plant and asset management sector which took place on the 6 – 7 November at the NEC, Birmingham, has been hailed a success by organisers Western Business Exhibitions.

Delivered under the theme, ‘The future of maintenance and reliability’, the 43rd edition of the show kicked off under, as Jos Diamond, event manager describes, “a new direction” with organisers moving to a new date line of November and reducing the show down to two more impactful days.

The new direction paid off and organisers received glowing feedback from both exhibitors and visitors with over 50 per cent of the industry’s leading manufacturers and suppliers already confirming their attendance to Maintec 2019. Plus a host of new exhibiting companies will be joining the line-up including SDT International, Interflon and Hunter Selection.

The quality of maintenance and reliability engineers was hailed as excellent by exhibitors, with representation from all the UK’s major sites across the breadth of UK industry sectors. Many exhibitors used the event as a platform to launch their new technologies and services for the first time in the UK including Bosch Rexroth, SSG Insights, SONOTEC Ultraschallsensorik Halle GmbH, T Cards Direct and InVMA – all of whom bought their latest products allowing visitors to see and experience the very newest technology live and exclusively on the show floor.

Following on from a strong seminar series in 2017, the 2018 edition saw packed-out theatres with visitors enjoying Maintec’s CDP accredited education programme approved by the Society of Operations Engineers and the keynote sessions from the likes of Bryan Donnelly, National Fleet Performance Manager at the Rail Delivery Group.

The new Reliability Dialogue theatre, sponsored by Bosch Rexroth, featured panel discussions such Asset Maintenance Strategies and From Condition Monitoring to Predictive Maintenance which were so popular with attendees that many sessions were standing room only.

TCT Transmission tweeted: “Some great new contacts made at Maintec today & nice to see so many loyal customers brave the weather to come & say hello.”

Jos Diamond, event manager, Maintec comments: “We are thrilled at the success of Maintec 2018. We continue to strive for a better, valuable event for the maintenance industry and are already looking forward to raising the bar further in 2019”.

Since the close of the show, organisers Western Business Exhibitions has been acquired by the Nineteen Group, an award-winning events business. Nineteen Group has over 16 years of exhibition knowledge and the resources needed to invest significantly in the next stage of Maintec’s development. The news highlights WBE’s continued commitment to improving the visitor experience and further enhancement exhibitor ROI, both of which are priorities for Nineteen Group.

Tim Else, Director of Western Business Exhibitions said “The opportunity to take WBE forward as part of the Nineteen Group is hugely exciting. Aligning our complementary events will deliver real benefits for our most important partners, our exhibitors, advertisers and our audiences alike. Couple this with the experience and strength of the extraordinary Nineteen Group team we create the perfect environment to ensure rapid growth of Maintec for the immediate and long-term future.”
