SIMATIC Stainless Steel (INOX) PRO devices are suitable for use in hygienic production areas

The new SIMATIC INOX PRO fully-enclosed stainless steel HMI devices feature an innovative protective enclosure suitable for use in hygienic production areas found in the food, beverage, tobacco, pharmaceutical, and fine chemicals industries.

The thin, space-saving enclosure has a Hygienic design based on DIN EN 1672-2 tested by the German Technical Inspectorate (TÜV) Rhineland / LGA. This initial INOX PRO release is in the form of the IPC277D INOX PRO industrial PC or the IFP1900 INOX PRO Ethernet monitor.

Each device is equipped with an 19” widescreen analog-resistive touch display with a novel sealing concept that has a moulded seal for better hygiene and a high degree of protection to IP66K (test with 10 bar water pressure and 100L water per minute at 25°C)

The enclosure is designed to have either a top or bottom mounting for swing-arm or pedestal deployment. Further customizations can be factory installed on request.

IPC277D INOX PRO industrial PC is an embedded fan-less PC suitable for small to medium HMI applications. The IFP1900 INOX PRO Flat Panel Monitor connects using DisplayPort, USB and ethernet (CAT5) connections. The Ethernet connection for graphic and USB signals allows for extended distance between the monitor and attached PC. This also makes cabling cheaper and easier to run.

Paul Herron, Product Manager – Siemens Factory Automation, at Siemens UK & Ireland comments: “The harsh environments and hygienic regulations found in certain sectors, such as food & beverage, oil & gas, and chemicals, provide those Manufacturers with unique challenges on the plant floor. This is why we have expanded our SIMATIC product range to provide Control and monitoring equipment with greater protection and flexibility for use in those challenging environments.”
