Paragon Software Systems will supply HAVI Logistics with its routing and scheduling optimisation software for planning deliveries across Europe. HAVI Logistics will use the software to implement dynamic daily planning of deliveries to McDonald’s and other customers, including IKEA, BP and OMV, Compass Group and Nordsee.

Paragon will enable HAVI Logistics to adapt better to fluctuating delivery volumes and further improve transport efficiencies. The company will also use the software for strategic planning, enabling the company to model efficient and cost-effective routes and select the most appropriate distribution centre for delivering to customers regardless of their location. The company is aiming to reduce transport costs using the software while lowering emissions and enhancing service.

‘Our business is growing across our existing customers and we are winning new clients too. Paragon’s automatic routing and scheduling software allows us to integrate new delivery points efficiently and quickly. Our objective is to achieve high efficiency levels with the lowest carbon footprint for our operations. It is these transport goals that drive our interest and investment in new logistics technology such as Paragon,’ says Rafael Gómez, Head of European Operations Development, HAVI Logistics.

HAVI Logistics subjected Paragon to a rigorous selection process before awarding the contract.

‘We looked at a number of suppliers and asked them to prove the capabilities of their solutions using real simulations based on our existing business. Following final evaluation, we asked Paragon to trial the system for us in two different countries to prove the software’s capabilities and suitability. We are pleased to say that Paragon exceeded our expectations and we are confident that we have selected the right software partner for this important part of our business,’ says Rafael Gómez.

He adds: ‘Paragon was able to fulfil all of our business requirements with an off-the-shelf solution and prove it could provide us with the highest efficiency gains resulting in an attractive payback. In addition, the flexibility and user-friendliness of the software and the company’s proven international experience and strong business performance supported our decision.’

The first wave of software implementation covers the planning of deliveries throughout Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Austria, Sweden and The Netherlands.
