Advanced Engineering 2016, the UK’s largest annual engineering trade show, returns to Birmingham’s NEC on 2 & 3 November 2016 with The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMECHE) on board as an official show supporter. As part of the deal IMECHE will be running two one-day technical conferences live on the show floor, focusing on the aerospace and automotive sectors.

Advanced Engineering 2016, which brings together the very best and brightest from the high performance engineering sectors, already has more than 80 show supporters, a wealth of exhibiting suppliers and partners and the largest open engineering conference programme in the UK.

Commenting on the partnership with IMECHE, Katie Crocombe, Advanced Engineering Event Director said: “We’re thrilled to be working with the IMECHE for 2016. Its involvement offers yet another element for visitors to the show and illustrates just how dedicated we are to the engineering market, and the community that surrounds it.

“It will be brilliant for our attendees to have access to even more powerful presentation content and will enable them to network with their peers and colleagues from the IMECHE.”

The IMECHE joins other leading organisations, such as Composites UK, Netcomposites, EEF, GTMA, NWAA, which have also been quick to throw support behind the 2016 show.

The show is also on target to have its largest ever exhibitor base, with over 350 companies already booked for the event, with seven months still to go. These include major first time exhibitors Pipex, Reichhold, Industore, BOC, North East Automotive Alliance, Hexcel Composites, Segura Systems, Senior Aerospace and CyberOptics.

In addition to major show supporters and some of the biggest suppliers from around the globe, Advanced Engineering will also host the most comprehensive Open Conference programme of its kind, providing those in attendance with plenty of educational opportunities, from industry trends and supply chain opportunities to technical talks and the latest innovations. Last year’s Open Conference featured speakers from international organisations such as Boeing, Magna International, Siemens, Jaguar Land Rover, European Space Agency, SAE International, Cannon, Bentley Motors and Airbus UK.

Advanced Engineering 2016 will span the key industry sectors, including aerospace, automotive, motorsport, marine, civil engineering. It features four ‘shows within a show’ – Automotive Engineering Show, Aero Engineering Show, Composites Engineering Show and Performance Metals Engineering. Plus, it will have a series of engineering features demonstrating the latest innovations in action. At the 2015 show these included the ARION1 Land Speed Bicycle, Vestas Sailrocket 2, the Facebook Aquila Solar Plane wing, and Tesla’s Model S electric car.

Katie Crocombe concludes: “2016 is going to be a pivotal year for Advanced Engineering, with more presentation content on offer and bigger names than ever before taking part. With the news of IMECHE coming on board, we feel we will be able to offer even more highly-practical content to our visitors, reaffirming the show’s position as the leading event of its kind. I can’t wait to see what other big announcements we have to make in the next seven months. Make sure you stay tuned!”
